A WWE NXT star has addressed his run on the brand, believing it has been one of the greatest of all time.
No stranger to championships, Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo is looking to earn a title shot on the March 17 NXT episode.
Stacks made the declaration on Twitter, commenting on his own championship history in WWE and TNA Wrestling.
Commenting on his NXT run so far, Stacks posted:
“One of the greatest @WWENXT runs of all time.
“2 Time NXT Tag Team Champion
“TNA International Champion
“Heritage Cup Champion
“And now…an opportunity to become a 3 Time NXT Tag champ!”
Stacks has held the NXT Heritage Cup since June last year, although it would be thrown off a bridge by Tony D’Angelo the following month.
The March 17 episode of NXT will see Birthright face Hank Walker & Tank Ledger in the opening round match in the tournament to determine the NXT Tag Team Championship challengers for the upcoming Stand & Deliver event.
NXT Stand & Deliver takes place on April 4, separating it from WrestleMania 42 week later that month, with Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) defending the Tag Team Championship against the tournament winner.
The NXT Tag Team Championship Record Belongs To Current AEW Stars
With their first championship reign starting in November 2017, The Undisputed Era would have three total runs as NXT Tag Team Champions.
For a combined 550 days over three separate runs, the combination of Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong, and O’Reilly and Bobby Fish, have held the time for a record-setting number of reigns.
Multiple teams follow in their wake with two reigns, with DarkState, Tony D’Angelo and Stacks as the only stars currently still signed to NXT.
Pretty Deadly saw a main roster call-up, as did the team known as Fraxiom, while The Revival are currently FTR in AEW, along with Nash Carter & Wes Lee of The Rascalz.
Imperium would also be former two-time NXT Championship, with Fabian Aichner (Giovanni Vinci) no longer under a WWE contract and Marcel Barthel having moved to the main roster as Ludwig Kaiser and, more recently, El Grande Americano.
Tony D’Angelo made his return recently, with Stacks joining Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors, Lexis King and Arianna Grace as a member, by future marriage, of the multi-generational stable Birthright.
Champions since February 24 of this year, The Vanity Project were recent additions to the NXT roster, with Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes bother being initially signed through the WWE ID program.
