Earlier this week, it emerged that Joe Tessitore would be absent from tonight’s February 14 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Tessitore is instead occupied with calling ESPN’s Valentine’s Fight Night card with Denys Berinchyk vs Keyshawn Davis.
Tessitore is usually the lead SmackDown announcer alongside Wade Barrett, leaving a spot to fill tonight.
With Tessitore absent, Barrett is instead joined by NXT lead announcer Vic Joseph.
Joseph plays the lead role calling NXT on the CW, where he’s joined by both Booker T and Corey Graves.
Joseph has been with WWE since 2017 and had a run calling Monday Night Raw in 2019, having been the lead for NXT since mid-2020.
Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown features two Elimination Chamber qualifiers in the form of Naomi vs Chelsea Green, and Jacob Fatu vs Braun Strowman vs Damian Priest.
Also, Tiffany Stratton defends the WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax.
