WWE star El Grande Americano was nearly unmasked during night two of the three-week AAA Rey De Reyes event tonight.
Last week, Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) was victorious in a four-way match to win this year’s Rey De Reyes sword, defeating La Parka, Santos Escobar and The Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable).
This week’s show was set to host the presentation where Americano was to be given the prestigous Rey De Reyes sword.
During the ceremony, Americano got emotional and said:
“The pride of Mexicans is not the color of your skin.
“The pride of Mexico is the culture, the people, because the people of Mexico are the most beloved and because a Mexican is born wherever he wants.”

However, the presentation was interrupted by AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio, which led to Original Americano attacking Americano from behind.
Original Americano tried to rip Americano’s mask off, but Los Americanos – Rayo (Pete Dunne) and Bravo (Tyler Bate)
How WWE Could Settle The Score Between El Grande Americano & Original Americano
Undoubtedly, some time soon there should be a match between the two Americanos to determine who is the ‘real’ Americano going forward.
While some believe this match should take place at WWE WrestleMania 42, it feels like this feud and the ultimate blowoff match belong in AAA.
Americano is the biggest babyface in the promotion right now, which has turned Original Americano into effectively the biggest heel.
Outside of possibly Americano vs Dominik Mysterio in the future, Americano vs Original Americano is the biggest match AAA could put on, and should be the main event of a big upcoming show in Mexico.
Many fans also believe this should be a mask vs mask match, with the loser being unmasked and returning to their original selves.
While Ludwig Kaiser is great as himself, it might be a mistake right now to take such an attraction away from the AAA brand, so if one of them is to lose the mask, it should probably be Chad Gable.
