A future championship match for WWE star Dominik Mysterio has been revealed, amid Mysterio’s absence from the ring.
Dominik Mysterio hasn’t wrestled since the December 20 AAA Guerra De Titanes show, with the WWE Intercontinental and AAA Mega champion suffering a shoulder injury while teaming with El Grande Americano against Rey Fenix and Rey Mysterio.
Following reports that Dominik Mysterio doesn’t need surgery, A new #1 contender for the AAA Mega Championship has now been crowned.
The next challenger for Dominik Mysterio’s AAA Mega Title was determined on the January 17 AAA debut on FOX in Latin America show, with El Hijo Del Vikingo facing off against El Grande Americano.
In the closing moments of the match, Omos prevented Americano from retrieving the metal plate, allowing Vikingo to pick up the victory.
A date for Dominik Mysterio vs El Hijo Del Vikingo wasn’t announced during the show.
A report from December 30 indicated that Dominik Mysterio was looking at “three to four weeks” out of action, meaning that if Mysterio has been recovering as expected, he should be ready to return in the next couple of weeks.
The AAA Mega Champion’s presence on the January 17 AAA show came in the form of a video package, with Dirty Dom stating that AAA is on top because of him.
We will continue to provide updates on Dominik Mysterio as they become available.
