WWE announcer Corey Graves has commented on his new role as a college professor at Point Park University in Pittsburgh.
Graves recently announced that he would be teaching a new Live Sports Production class.
In a new faculty feature video posted on Point Park University’s YouTube channel, Graves explained his role, saying:
“I am teaching a class about live sports production with a heavy focus on storytelling throughout a broadcast.
“I joined WWE as a wrestler but since then I’ve transitioned to a commentator and I’ve been the lead, I’ve been the color analyst, I’ve worn many hats in WWE.
“Above all, I focus on storytelling. That’s the main focus of my job. I believe the opportunity to tell stories across sports can really enhance the viewing experience to anybody.
“It’s really important for me that my classroom’s very collaborative. I don’t wanna stand in front of a room full of people and just preach at them.
“I want to know what they want to know. I want to know what I know that I can pass onto them. I really think that the more we collaborate and learn from one another, the better everybody is.”

Graves’ students have positive reviews of his work, with Austin Cairns saying:
“I have learned so much in (Graves’) class about the different skills and techniques he uses in WWE and how we can apply them to any broadcast.
“As someone working in Pittsburgh doing exactly what (Graves) is doing, I especially benefit from learning from him and picking his brain about the business.”
Another student, Matt Palange, said:
“I have learned how to properly engage an audience through verbal and visual storytelling, specifically how to format and build your storytelling.
“(Graves) is extremely good at what he does and it’s an honor to have him as a professor.”
