As announced, WWE star and TNA Wrestling legend AJ Styles made an appearance at tonight’s July 20 TNA Slammiversary 2025 pay-per-view.
With teases and rumors going around, TNA confirmed on Impact earlier this week that Styles would be appearing at Slammiversary tonight.
Tonight’s pay-per-view played host to a history-making title change in that Leon Slater defeated Moose to become the youngest ever X-Division Champion, beating the record previously held by Amazing Red.
As TNA president Carlos Silva was about to hand Slater the title belt, Moose snatched it away, but showed his respect and put it around the waist of Slater.
With Silva and Moose now out of the ring, Slater was on his own but was shortly surprised by the sound of AJ Styles’ ‘Get Ready To Fly’ TNA theme music.
Styles made his way out to join Slater in the ring as the crowd did a singalong to his theme, before he got on the microphone.
In the ring, Styles put Slater over and said:
“You didn’t just impress me tonight Leon, you made me realize why I love this business. It’s guys like you who make people like me love what they do.”
He also said:
“You’ve already made history tonight. The next step is to make your legacy.”
After giving more props to Slater, Styles raised his hand. Slater then left and Styles got a moment of his own in the ring.
Styles is a five-time TNA World Champion, a six-time X-Division Champion, a two-time TNA TV Champion and a six-time TNA Tag Team Champion.
Earlier during Slammiversary, NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne became a double champion, winning the TNA Knockouts Championship from Masha Slamovich in their title vs title match.
Still to come in tonight’s main event, Trick Williams defends the TNA World Championship against Mike Santana and Joe Hendry.
