A current AEW champion has questioned the booking of a former rival of theirs in WWE, asking ‘where are you?’.
Back in 2024 on SmackDown, Carmelo Hayes and Andrade would take part in a Best of Seven Series on the show, with the matches between the two men being one of the highlights of the entire show, and of Andrade’s entire second run with the company.
Andrade would go on to leave WWE last year, with him since making his return to AEW, where he now reigns as the National Champion.
Andrade recently spoke during an interview about the booking in WWE, and how he believes that Samoan wrestlers get more opportunity than Mexican wrestlers in the company, which prompted a response from the Usos.
Andrade El Idolo Questions Whereabouts Of Carmelo Hayes
Now, taking to social media, Andrade has seemingly once again questioned WWE’s booking, this time of his former rival Carmelo Hayes.
He simply wrote:
Where are you Amigo ? @Carmelo_WWE
Hayes has not been seen on WWE SmackDown since he lost to Baron Corbin in a United States Championship match in his hometown of Boston.
Baron Corbin is set to be in action this weekend at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event, when he faces off against Lil Yachty in Yachty’s WWE debut match.
Will Carmelo Hayes Ever Be World Champion In WWE?
Carmelo Hayes was a name that came up from NXT with a lot of promise, with him being SmackDown’s first round draft pick in the 2024 WWE Draft and facing off with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in his first match on the main roster.
Hayes began to gather momentum for the first time on the main roster coming off his series of matches with Andrade, with him then winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and United States Championship in 2025.
Hayes has continued to chase the US Title in the months since his loss, but with him already coming up short against Baron Corbin, it seems as though his momentum has once again stalled on the SmackDown brand.
With Melo struggling for TV time, it seems very unlikely he will reach the mountain top in WWE as many once predicted he would during his time in NXT, with a move to Raw perhaps his best current option.
