WWE has shared exclusive off-air footage of a confrontation between NXT Champion Oba Femi and Je’Von Evans after Tuesday’s show went off the air.

This week’s episode of NXT emanated from The Met in Philadelphia ahead of this Sunday’s WWE Heatwave Premium Live Event.

In the main event of the show, TNA World Champion Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans faced off in a number one contender’s match for Oba Femi’s NXT Championship, with the winner receiving their shot at “The Ruler” at WWE Heatwave.

In the closing stages it appeared as if Trick had the match won, however, an appearance from TNA rival Mike Santana was enough distraction to allow Je’Von to get the win following a springboard cutter – confirming his NXT Championship match with Oba Femi at Heatwave as a result.

After the show went off the air, Femi came down to the ring to confront Evans, hoisting his NXT Championship above his challenger’s head before claiming to the 21-year-old that “this would be as close as he gets” to capturing the title.

You can footage of their meeting in full down below.

Evans has never defeated Femi in their respective WWE careers, however, they have yet to face off in televised singles competition.
