Triple H has sent a message to Matt Cardona following his return to WWE on the January 2 episode of SmackDown in Buffalo, NY.
The first WWE SmackDown of 2026 saw not only the move back to a three hour runtime, but also some exciting new additions to the blue brand’s roster, with Trick Williams being called up from NXT and Jordynne Grace teasing making the same jump in the near future.
It wasn’t just NXT call-ups however, as former WWE United States, Intercontinental and multi-time Tag Team Champion Matt Cardona also officially returned to WWE on SmackDown.
Taking on Kit Wilson, Cardona scored his first WWE win in six years, with commentary confirming that the former TNA star was now officially once again a member of the WWE roster on SmackDown.
In reaction to Cardona’s re-signing and return match, Triple H took to Twitter to offer his congratulations to the “The Complete”.
Triple H wrote:
A lesson to learn for everyone going into 2026: Stay Ready.
Congrats and welcome back home @TheMattCardona. #SmackDown
