Trick Williams has invited a familiar celebrity name to WWE SmackDown in his first comments since Sami Zayn won the United States Championship.
The Friday, March 27 episode of Smackdown saw Sami Zayn accept Carmelo Hayes’ United States Title open challenge and ultimately dethroning the champion after some inadvertent help from rival Trick Williams.
With it being announced that Zayn will defend his US Title at WrestleMania 42 against Williams, “Trick Willy” has now sent out an invite to rapper Lil Yachty to attend next week’s SmackDown in St. Louis, MO (April 3).
Sharing a video to Twitter, Williams said:
“So after last night, I’ve been in deep contemplation about what’s going on around here. How in the world did The Gingerbread Man walk out with the United States Championship last night?
“So this is what we about to do about it. We about to change up the whole dynamic. I wanna personally invite my boy, I’m talking about my day one a long time back, my HBCU brother Lil Yachty, I need for you to pull up to SmackDown this week.
“We in St. Louis I need for you to pull up, spice things up, talk to these folk man. Let them know what’s going on around here.
“The games are done, grown folk talking. Pull up on me dog let’s talk about it.”

Lil Yachty has become a familiar presence at WWE events in recent years and recently spoke at length about wrestling during his appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive back in January.
Lil Yachty Set For Role At WrestleMania 42?
Lil Yachty’s WWE involvement has thus far only seen him sit in the crowd, but given that it’s WrestleMania season, it seems like his potential appearance on SmackDown could lead to a role at the two-night event in Las Vegas.
WWE love celebrity crossovers, particularly at WrestleMania, and Yachty being in Trick Williams’ corner, or perhaps being the special guest referee for he and Zayn’s US Title match could get some extra eyes on one of the mid-card matches at “The Show of Shows.’
Even if it doesn’t amount to a WrestleMania 42 appearance, Yachty taking a Helluva Kick from Zayn on SmackDown would certainly add some extra mainstream buzz to the show.
WWE Under Pressure To Add Carmelo Hayes Into The WrestleMania 42 Fold
Carmelo Hayes’ United States Title loss has proven to be a very unpopular decision amongst fans online, with comments showing support for the former champion flooding WWE’s social channels, and even Trick Williams’ aforementioned invite to Lil Yachty to attend SmackDown.
Now, it’s possible that WWE’s plan for the SmackDown title change always included Hayes being added into Trick vs. Sami before WrestleMania 42 comes around, but if that wasn’t their plan, they may be forced to do just that based on the negative reaction to Hayes’ loss thus far.
While Hayes reacted to the disappointing loss with a GIF, former WWE star Bishop Dyer voiced his displeasure at the title change, saying Hayes got “screwed” after helping bring value to the US Championship over his 98 day reign.
With the likes of Ilja Dragunov and Tama Tonga in the US Championship mix lately, we could potentially see more than just Hayes added to the WrestleMania 42 match, however, at this point in time it is simply Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams.
