A top WWE star has jokingly made a comment about “The Bloodline vortex” after The Rock’s SmackDown return.
The big talking point heading into last night’s SmackDown in New Orleans, LA was undoubtedly The Rock’s big return to WWE TV, something only announced by The Final Boss on Thursday (February 20).
After teasing doing so on social media ahead of his appearance, The Rock called out Cody Rhodes to the ring, with the pair sharing a tense exchange in which Rock asked Rhodes if he would be “his champion”, before proclaiming that he wanted Rhodes’ “soul”.
Rhodes is set to give Rock his answer to his demands at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event on March 1, with speculation rampant among fans afterwards as to what WWE’s creative direction will be as a result of Rock’s return.
Among those to take to social media after The Rock and Cody Rhodes’ SmackDown meeting was Drew McIntyre, who had suffered an upset loss to Jimmy Uso in the show’s opener.
McIntyre wrote:
There is no escaping the Bloodline vortex
McIntyre’s problems with The Bloodline are well documented and date back to his loss to Roman Reigns at WWE Clash at the Castle in September 2022.
While he recently made it his mission to take out each member of the group upon his return to TV in December, he has only defeated Sami Zayn in singles competition since then, losing to both Jey Uso on the Raw Netflix premiere (January 6) and now Jimmy Uso on last night’s SmackDown.
