Several TNA Wrestling stars parted ways with the company recently and a possible reason behind the departures has now been revealed.
December 13 saw former ECW and WWE star Rhino confirm that he was parting ways with TNA Wrestling.
News emerged on December 16 that ring announcer Jade Chung was set to depart TNA Wrestling when her contract ends, with PWInsider later reporting that former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Trent Seven has also finished with TNA Wrestling.
Then in a third update of the day, former WWE NXT KUSHIDA also reportedly parted ways with TNA Wrestling following the weekend’s tapings in Atlanta.
Dave Meltzer has now revealed that more departures may be coming, with pay cuts being a potential contributing factor.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer addressed the recent exits from the company, saying:
“There may be more coming. One of the thing’s that happened is a lot of the talent were asked to take pay cuts, I don’t know how many. That was among the reasons Rhino left, his last match was on Saturday I believe.
“Jade Chung who’s the ring announcer she left, her contract was up at the end of the year so she’s done. Josh Alexander who’s her husband, his contract is coming up very soon. It’s not a lock that he’s leaving but there’s an expectation that he’s leaving. He’s said he’s gonna test free agency so it depends on where he gets an offer.
“KUSHIDA, he’s done. The New Japan deal, it feels like the New Japan (& TNA deal) is done. KUSHIDA was under two contracts a New Japan contract and TNA contract.
“Jordynne Grace is expected to leave when she’s done to go to WWE.”

It was recently reported that the returning Tessa Blanchard is set for a ‘short feud’ with Grace before her contract expires.
In TNA Wrestling, AJ Francis’ contract is set to expire at the end of 2024 with an agreement on a contract extension not having yet been reached.
