Carlos Silva, the president of TNA Wrestling, has addressed Mike Santana following his victory on this week’s TNA Wrestling.
At WWE NXT Roadblock on March 31, Mike Santana teamed with OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) to take on DarkState (Osiris Griffin, Dion Lennox & Saquon Shugars).
With Santana & OTM scoring the win, Carlos Silva would praise the TNA Wrestling star for his hometown victory, tweeting:
“Well done, Mike. Always great to get a home town win.”
Marking the first appearance for Santana this year in NXT, the TNA World Champion had multiple appearances throughout 2025, including a failed attempt to capture the title he now holds from Trick Williams back in June.
Santana would go on to defeat Trick Williams for the TNA World Championship on home ground, specifically Bound for Glory in October of last year, only to lose the title the following month to Frankie Kazarian, recapturing it in January of this year.
A former AEW star, Santana returned to TNA Wrestling at Rebellion in 2024 and previously held the Impact World Tag Team Championship with Ortiz.
The WWE NXT/TNA Wrestling Partnership Continues
Made official with an announcement in January of last year, the multi-year partnership between WWE and TNA continues to bear fruit.
With Carlos Silva having revealed that they are “playing the long game” with the arrangement, TNA Wrestling currently has NXT’s Arianna Grace as its Knockouts World Champion.
The flow of talent from TNA Wrestling to WWE has also seen Jordynne Grace and Joe Hendry sign NXT contracts, with both making their main roster debuts ahead of an actual call-up.
A notable moment in the partnership saw X-Division Champion Leon Slater team with Je’Von Evans to take on AJ Styles & Dragon Lee at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. The show was built around John Cena’s final match with Slater as the only star to appear who wasn’t signed to a WWE contract.
Much of the partnership revolves around TNA Wrestling and NXT, as opposed to the main roster, with no doubt that WWE are keeping an eye on the contract status of key stars in the Anthem Sports & Entertainment company.
No TNA Wrestling stars are set to compete at the April 4 edition of NXT Stand and Deliver, although it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that some may make their presence felt.
