A title change took place on tonight’s episode of WWE NXT in the first of four title matches announced for the show.
Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT features four championship matches, including an NXT Women’s Championship match between Jacy Jayne and Sol Ruca.
The show kicked off with the first of the four title matches, with Saquon Shugars and Osiris Griffin of DarkState defending the NXT Tag Team Championship against the Vanity Project’s Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes.
In recent weeks, Tony D’Angelo has taken aim at DarkState for breaking apart his family last year, which included a quick victory over Cutler James on last week’s episode of NXT.
Tony vowed to take everything away from DarkState, and he continued to do exactly that tonight, with him making an appearance in the match, taking out Saquon Shugars and allowing the Vanity Project to win the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Baylor, Smokes and Jackson Drake all officially joined the WWE NXT roster last month following a series of call ups to the main roster, including Oba Femi, Je’von Evans and Jordynne Grace.
