At the start of tonight’s WWE SmackDown, it was announced that Cody Rhodes has been pulled from his planned.

Yesterday, WWE announced a six-man tag with a reuniting Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga set to off against Damian Priest, Braun Strowman and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

The match was continuously advertised on WWE’s website today, but won’t be happening as planned.

During the SmackDown intro sequence, General Manager Nick Aldis met up with Cody Rhodes to tell him he’s been pulled from the six-man tag.

When Rhodes demanded to know why, Aldis said it was out of his hands. Rhodes continued to press Aldis, saying they needed to find a way to make sure the match goes ahead.

Aldis then said the decision came directly from The Rock, who wants to meet Cody Rhodes in the ring later tonight.

Late plans for The Rock to appear on tonight’s SmackDown did cause legitimate rewrites to the show, with that idea now being played up in storyline.

As a result of Rhodes being removed from the match, Tama Tonga was removed from the other side as well, so it’s now Sikoa and Fatu vs Priest and Strowman. We’ll keep you posted on how the situation plays out throughout the night.
