The Friday, July 4 episode of WWE SmackDown (taped on June 30) saw the return of WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus.
With recent reports signifying that Stratus’ return to WWE programming was “right around the corner”, the seven-time former Women’s Champion showed up on SmackDown in Pittsburgh, PA – her first appearance in the company since March.
With WWE Evolution less than two weeks away it was also announced that Stratus will be competing at the all women’s PLE, with her opponent being none other than current WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.
Not only is the match set for Evolution, but it will also be contested for Stratton’s WWE Women’s Championship, the first time Stratus has had a match for a singles title since 2006.
Stratton and Stratus are no stranger to one another, with the two stars teaming together at WWE Elimination Chamber in March against Nia Jax and Candice LeRae.
We will provide more information on WWE’s plans for Stratus as well as Evolution 2025 when news becomes available.
