Two WWE stars have noted that there was ‘so much time cut’ from their recent championship match on television.
On last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, The Bella Twins were in tag team action, facing off against Nia Jax and Lash Legend of the Irresistible Forces for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
The match ended up being a short affair that ended in a disqualification after Charlotte Flair, who had been at ringside with Alexa Bliss, booted Nia Jax, leading to the match getting thrown out.
The Bella Twins Say ‘So Much Time Was Cut’ From The Match
During their entrance, fans noted that Nikki and Brie didn’t do their signature backflip ring entrance for the match, and they have now revealed why.
Speaking on the Nikki & Brie Show, the Bella Twins noted that there was ‘so much time cut’ from the match, which led to Brie not thinking she had time for the entrance.
They said:
Brie: “Can I tell everyone why we didn’t do our backflip in?”
Nikki: “We just had so much time cut”
Brie: “-that we, you pick and choose, but don’t worry, you’re gonna see it this Friday”
Nikki: “I know people thought Brie may have forgot, but we just, that’s why they didn’t even do the title announcements. I know you were like ‘I think we do have time for the backflip’.”
Brie: “I felt like we did”
Nikki: “I just, I always, when I backflip, I celebrate, I like to take the moment to celebrate. Anyways, long story short, you’re just in those moments when minutes are getting cut and you’re just like ‘how do we just get this started?’
Brie: “But, I will do it for all of you this Friday”
The Bella Twins are set to face off against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss on tomorrow night’s SmackDown show.
Who Should Leave WrestleMania 42 As Women’s Tag Team Champions?
It was recently reported that the planned Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 42 would be a multi-team affair, with Nia Jax and Lash Legend defending the titles against the Bella Twins, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria.
While any of the four teams would be a fine choice for a winner, the frontrunners would be the Bella Twins, who seem destined for a run with the gold after making their returns to WWE in the past year, signing two year deals with the company.
The other team that would make for a worthy winner is the duo of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, who enter the match one year on from Bayley being removed from their planned Tag Team Championship match on last year’s WrestleMania 41 show in the same venue.
