A scrapped appearance of TNA Wrestling stars on WWE television at last night’s NXT Battleground has been revealed.
On last night’s show, TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship.
Jordynne ultimately came up short in the match, when Tatum Paxley appeared at ringside, stealing the TNA Knockouts Championship before TNA star Ash By Elegance (WWE’s Dana Brooke) made an appearance, taking the title from Paxley and distracting Jordynne, allowing Roxanne to pin the Knockouts Champion to retain the title.
Ash By Elegance wasn’t the only TNA name present at the show, as Gail Kim and Jonathan Gresham, the husband of Grace, were both present at the show, alongside various Anthem executives.
However, the TNA contingent were not shown on camera at the event, but there was reportedly a consideration to do just that.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), there was a brief consideration to show Kim, Gresham and the rest of the TNA representatives on the broadcast for Battleground, which did not end up coming to fruition.
Many expect some NXT representation at the upcoming TNA Against All Odds pay-per-view event on June 14.
Jordynne Grace is set to host an open challenge for the TNA Knockouts Championship on the show.
