Ricky Saints has addressed the moment members of the TNA Wrestling roster invaded WWE NXT and why his attention was elsewhere.
The September 23 episode of NXT saw the main event break down into chaos as TNA Wrestling stars made their presence felt while Oba Femi and Trick Williams competed in their champion vs champion match.
With members of the NXT roster coming out to even the odds, Ricky Saints also made an appearance, although he pretty much ignored what was going on both in and outside of the ring.
Speaking on Going Ringside, Saints revealed that the invasion had nothing to do with him, but the NXT Championship definitely does, saying:
“I saw the NXT Championship amidst of all this chaos between TNA and NXT. You know, they’re fighting, it had nothing to do with me.
“I saw an opportunity, and I went for it. I’m good at being zoned in. I can do this a lot and lock in on something. And that’s what I did.
“Went for that title because ultimately I feel like it’s gonna be mine.
“Oba had other ideas of course, and you know, it is what it is.
“But I’m glad I was able to walk through the minefield and get to where I wanted to get to, which was the NXT Championship on that podium.”

Saints is set to face Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at No Mercy on September 27, with the match card right here.
A victory at No Mercy would mark the second title that Saints has held since his WWE debut in February this year, being a former NXT North American Champion.
While the TNA invasion of NXT is a developing storyline, WWE has recently filed a trademark application for a seemingly related term.
