A recently released WWE NXT star made his AEW debut at the Ring of Honor tapings prior to tonight’s Dynamite show.
WWE held it’s most recent round of talent cuts back in early May, with a number of names from both the main roster and NXT being let go from their contracts.
Among those names was Oro Mensah, the former member of the Meta Four and former NXT UK Tag Team Champion, who was released alongside fellow Meta Four member Jakara Jackson.
Now, Oro Mensah, simply going by the name ‘Oro’ made his debut for AEW, competing on tonight’s Ring of Honor tapings prior to Dynamite.
Oro was defeated by Tomohiro Ishii in his ROH debut.
The show also saw another former NXT star Alex Zayne (Ari Sterling in WWE) compete, with him coming up short against Jay Lethal.
