A recent WWE event has reportedly received glowing praise by many within the company, being ranked among the best of the year.
On December 20, AAA held their final major event of the year with Guerra de Titanes at Arena Guadalajara, a show that featured exciting in-ring action, WWE stars throughout the card and even a surprise appearance from legendary boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
While there has been some concern from fans regarding a potential shoulder injury suffered by Dominik Mysterio during the show’s main event tag team match, there has been no official update regarding his status in the week that has followed the event.
However, what we do have an indication of is how AAA Guerra de Titanes was received backstage within WWE, courtesy of the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter from Dave Meltzer.
According to those within WWE that Meltzer has spoken to, the event was highly regarded and considered one of, if not the, best the company has put on all year.
Meltzer writes:
I had multiple people from WWE note to me they thought as a pure show, just crowd and matches and forgetting about special effects, that this was one of the best or even the best WWE show this year.
WWE Hall of Famer JBL also had high praise for AAA Guerra de Titanes, stating he was “blown away” by the show after serving on the English broadcast team alongside Corey Graves and Konnan.
