A Monday Night Raw star thinks she’ll “always be involved” in WWE “in some capacity” beyond her in-ring retirement.

The past four months have seen both John Cena and AJ Styles call time on their WWE in-ring careers, with Cena capping off his 23-year run with a loss to GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 and AJ Styles also retiring with a loss to “The Ring General” just over a month later at the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble.

During an appearance on Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, Becky Lynch addressed whether she’s given much thought regarding how she wants to bow out from in-ring competition in the company given the polarising response from fans to both Cena and Styles’ retirements.

Teasing a role in WWE beyond her retirement, Lynch said:

“No, because I think I’ll always be involved in some capacity, in some way. I don’t think I need to be worried about the retirement run.”

Becky Lynch Addresses Her Era Of The WWE Locker Room “Aging Out”

With the likes of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes passing their 40th birthdays and the likes of Charlotte Flair and Seth Rollins following behind, it likely won’t be long before a new era of WWE stars begin taking ahold of the company and leading it into the future.

With the likes of Oba Femi, Bron Breakker and Rhea Ripley all taking WWE by storm before 30, Becky Lynch believes it won’t be long before her generation are “aged out” in favor of a new crop of talent.

Lynch said:

“When I think of the talent that we have right now, the Seth Rollins’, the Sami Zayns, the Sheamus’, the Finn Balors, the Charlotte Flairs, the Bayleys, we’re all going to be aging out at some point around the same time and there’s gonna be a whole new era, a whole new run of people but it’s probably not that far off.

“We are all closer to the end than we are the beginning. There’s gonna be a lot of us eventually, so maybe we should all shut up and appreciate me while we have me.”

Should WWE Begin To Faze Out Their Older Talent Sooner?

With CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton the headline matches of WrestleMania 42, many fans have been vocal regarding WWE’s hesitancy to push younger talent into the main event scene.

Heading into the Royal Rumble, Bron Breakker and Oba Femi were among the favorites to win the match and book a main event spot at WrestleMania 42, however, that place instead went to “The OTC.”

In retrospect this has proven to be a good call, as Oba Femi has since progressed into one of WrestleMania 42’s most anticipated matches against Brock Lesnar and Bron Breakker was forced onto the sidelines due to a hernia immediately after the Royal Rumble, however, there is still certainly an argument that a younger star should have gotten the opportunity instead of Reigns.
