An NXT star made an appearance on tonight’s November 7 episode of WWE SmackDown on USA Network and formed a new partnership.
UPDATE: NXT North American Champion Ethan Page also appeared on SmackDown tonight, sat in the front row watching his AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship partner Chelsea Green’s match against Giulia.
As advertised ahead of the show, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Charlotte Flair faced Nia Jax in singles action tonight.
Jax picked up the win after an NXT star appeared at ringside and attacked Flair’s tag team partner Alexa Bliss.
That NXT star was Lash Legend, whose attack on Bliss distracted Flair so Jax could take advantage.
After the match, Jax and Legend hugged and left up the ramp together, signaling the start of a new partnership between the two women.
Lash Legend made a few appearances on WWE SmackDown last year, including picking up a victory over Piper Niven.
She was most recently in action on last week’s episode of NXT in a losing effort against Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey.
Legend and Jax actually had a match against each other on NXT back in August, which Jax won.
In a post-match interview backstage, Jax actually brought that match up and said they formed a friendship because of the respect they built for each other.
Legend then said they’re going “straight to the top” and this is just the start of their time together.
Reports emerged a number of weeks ago that Legend would be part of the upcoming women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series.
At the time of those reports, the teams were set to be Legend, Jax, the Kabuki Warriors and Becky Lynch facing Flair, Bliss, AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY.
Legend making an appearance on WWE SmackDown suggests those plans are still in effect.
