SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has commented on his “full-circle” WWE reunion with former TNA Wrestling colleagues the Motor City Machine Guns.
Last night’s WWE SmackDown in Columbia, SC saw the long-awaited debut of Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, capping off an over two decade long journey for the team throughout companies such as TNA Wrestling, NJPW, ROH, PWG and many more.
Fittingly it was former TNA Wrestling colleague and current SmackDown GM Nick Aldis that was there to welcome Sabin and Shelley to WWE, immediately booking them in one of two three-way matches to determine new WWE Tag Team Championship number one contenders.
The day after the Motor City Machine Guns’ impressive WWE debut, Aldis would take to Twitter to comment on Shelley and Sabin’s arrival in WWE – calling it a “full-circle” moment.
Aldis wrote:
A tremendous full-circle moment with two of my favorite people in this industry.
Real ones already know, but MCMG are about to go global, and nobody deserves it more.
The Motor City Machine Guns will face-off with DIY on next week’s SmackDown in Brooklyn, NY to decide who will challenge Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
