A newly crowned champion has thrown a jab at an injured WWE star after a title change during the February 7 episode of AAA on FOX.
On what was day day 97 of their reign as AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions, Ethan Page and Chelsea Green went into last night’s episode of AAA on FOX with a title defense scheduled against Mr. Iguana and WWE NXT’s Lola Vice.
However, due to Green taking a “near fatal fall” during her three-way Elimination Chamber qualifying match with Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend on the February 6 SmackDown, she was forced to call Page and inform him that she’d be unable to compete in the advertised title match.
In Green’s absence, La Hiedra – who had previously held the AAA Mixed Tag Titles with Mr. Iguana – stepped up and volunteered to team with Page to take on Iguana and Vice.
It was the stand-in who ultimately lost the match however, as Vice defeated Hiedra to crown she and Iguana as the new AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions.
In his first comments since the win, Iguana jumped on Twitter and took the opportunity to throw some shade towards the injured Green.
Posting a picture of he and Vice with their new titles, Iguana wrote:
The future is green! (No, not you @ImChelseaGreen)
While the win begins Iguana’s second reign as AAA Mixed Tag Champion, it is the very first time Vice has won gold since beginning her pro wrestling career back in 2022.
We will provide further updates on Green’s foot injury as more information becomes available, and wish her the best in her recovery.
