WWE Motor City Machine Guns SmackDown Title Win Over The Bloodline

The Motor City Machine Guns have commented on their first-ever WWE Tag Team Championship win over The Bloodline on SmackDown (October 26).

In a frantic close to SmackDown last night in Brooklyn, NY, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin challenged Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa in an impromptu main event for the WWE Tag Team Championships, just minutes after defeating DIY to become number one contenders.

Following recent beatdowns at the hands of Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline, both Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns would interfere in the bout, driving Sikoa and Jacob Fatu from ringside to a raucous response from the crowd in the Barclays Center.

Then, in an answer to The Bloodline costing him his Intercontinental Championship on Raw, Jey Uso would also emerge from the crowd, taking out both Loa and Tonga and setting up Motor City Machine Guns to get the title victory in just their third WWE bout.

After the dust settled on the archaic end to SmackDown, Byron Saxton caught up with both Sabin and Shelley backstage in a WWE digital exclusive interview.

In response to the huge win, Sabin was at a loss for words, saying:

“I think it’s still sinking in. I’m almost kind of speechless, I don’t know what to say. It’s kind of unheard of to be on the fast-track to success like this in WWE, but this is exactly what we came here to do.

“We came here to prove that we’re one of the greatest tag teams of all time. And there’s only one place you can do that, and that’s right here in WWE.”

Shelley would then comment, setting his eyes firmly on the future, saying:

“Quite frankly, it doesn’t matter what we did last week, it doesn’t matter what we did an hour ago. What matters right now is that we’re champions and we have to hold onto these.

“The hard work’s just beginning, but you ain’t seen nothing yet. We’re the greatest of all time for a reason – we’re gonna prove it to the WWE Universe.”

After Shelley and Sabin’s big win, Jey and Jimmy Uso would officially reunite, embracing in the middle of the ring to the delight of the WWE fans while Roman Reigns looked on from the entrance ramp.
