A major TNA Wrestling title change took place in the main event of tonight’s AMC Network premiere episode of Impact.
After a night filled with newsworthy moments and exciting action, Mike Santana looked to become a two-time TNA World Champion by dethroning the man who took the title from him back in November: Frankie Kazarian.
After a back-and-forth encounter which saw Kazarian pay tribute to former tag team partner Christopher Daniels with the Angel’s Wings, and Mike Santana hit Amazing Red’s Code Red, it was Santana who eventually got the win to reclaim his gold.
Taking two Spin The Block Clotheslines to put Kazarian down in the closing stages, Santana’s now gets another chance to hold the gold after having to snatched away from him just 32 days into his first run.
Despite threats from Nic Nemeth last week on Impact, he would not show up to call his shot and cash-in his guaranteed TNA World Title opportunity, as Santana was left to celebrate his win without interruption as Impact’s AMC debut episode went off the air.
Santana’s win was not the only title change on the night, as with The IInspiration also losing their TNA Knockout’s World Tag Team Titles to The Elegance Brand on Impact.
A major update has emerged regarding Cassie Lee and Jess McKay’s TNA futures after this loss – click here for full details.
