There was a big title change in the main event of tonight’s WWE NXT No Mercy premium live event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
On a night with four championships on the line, the first three title matches all saw the champions retain.
Sol Ruca defended her WWE Women’s Speed Championship against Jaida Parker, Ethan Page kept hold of his NXT North American Title against Tavion Heights, and Jacy Jayne defeated Lola Vice to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
However, the main event played host to a major title change as Ricky Saints defeated Oba Femi for the NXT Championship.
Saints sealed the win with his recently debuted springboard tornado DDT finisher.
Femi had held the title since early January when he won it from Trick Williams in a three-way match that also included Eddy Thorpe at New Year’s Evil.
The loss for Femi is only his third since his NXT TV debut in April 2023 – with both of the previous ones coming at the hands of Tony D’Angelo.
Saints joined WWE and NXT this past February just one day after leaving AEW.
He held the NXT North American Championship for almost two months in April and May, winning it from Shawn Spears and losing it to Ethan Page.
