La Catalina has officially arrived in WWE AAA during tonight’s episode, crashing Flammer’s championship celebration.
Tonight’s WWE AAA episode in Mexico City kicked off with the in-ring celebration for Flammer becoming the longest reigning Reina De Reinas Champion of all time.
While Flammer was celebrating her achievement with Las Toxicas, they were interrupted by the arrival of La Catalina.
Catalina congratulated Flammer on her achievement and was about to leave, but then turned around and reminded Flammer that she is not on the long list of names that Flammer has retained her championship against.
Catalina then went on to shove Flammer’s head into the cake before standing tall with the Reina De Reinas Title belt.
La Catalina left CMLL earlier this week after three years with the promotion.
The CMLL run came after she’d spent a couple of years in WWE NXT where she worked under her real name Catalina Garcia and later Katrina Cortez.
El Grande Americano Saves His Girlfriend From Original Americano At WWE AAA
Tonight’s AAA episode also featured WWE main roster stars in action as The Original El Grande Americano – hated in Mexico – faced Octagon Jr.
That match ended with the OG Americano unmasking Octagon Jr and making him tap out to the ankle lock for the win.
After the match, interviewer Andrea Bazarte, the girlfriend of El Grande Americano, was interviewing some Mexican celebrities at ringside when the OG Americano got physical with one of them before turning his attention to Bazarte.
El Grande Americano then made his entrance to save his girlfriend to a massive reaction from the fans before the two Americanos had a big brawl at ringside.
Later in the show, El Grande challenged OG to a mask vs mask match – no date was mentioned but it’ll evidently be happening some time soon.
WWE did announce AAA Noche de Los Grandes for May 30, so that seems like a possible landing spot for the mask vs mask match.
Also, WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta defended his title against El Hijo Del Vikingo, with Penta retaining thanks to an assist from Mini Vikingo.
