A potential new update has emerged regarding TNA Wrestling’s Joe Hendry and his status and/or future with WWE.
In 2024, Joe Hendry became one of the faces of the TNA/WWE partnership, making many appearances in NXT and challenging for the NXT Championship.
After a few months away from NXT – during which he appeared in the Royal Rumble and against Randy Orton at WrestleMania – he’s recently been back to being featured regularly on NXT TV.
He’s even had a new ‘bit’ for the past few weeks where he appears out of nowhere in random places when people say his name, including popping out of a fridge at one point.
His last match on NXT TV, which came a couple of weeks ago, saw him pick up a singles win against Charlie Dempsey.
In a new update and appearance, Joe Hendry was in action at last night’s August 23 untelevised WWE NXT live event in Sebring, Florida.
It’s not the first time that he’s been at an NXT live event, but it’s especially notable that he main evented the night, picking up a win against Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo.
Given the fact he was in that spot, it still appears he has something of a bright future with WWE that may become a full-time one at some point.
He even led the crowd in a “we are NXT” chant to close out the show according to someone in attendance.
It’s believed his TNA contract expires at the end of 2025.
