Joe Hendry has a new tag team partner in WWE, as confirmed during tonight’s November 4 episode of NXT on the CW Network.
The main event segment of tonight’s show was the “Muy Grande Championship Celebration” of Ethan Page and Chelsea Green after they won the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship this past weekend.
Last week, the duo had a run-in backstage with Joe Hendry, who had been summoned by Thea Hail saying his name to purposely spook Page and Green.
Tonight, during the celebration, Green nearly said Hendry’s name, but was stopped by Page who expected Hendry to be in the giant cake that was behind them.
Page and Green then braced themselves and told Alba Fyre to say Hendry’s name, which she did, but he didn’t come out of the cake, instead simply walking out on the ramp.
Hendry said that he was coming after championship gold, but not Page’s WWE NXT North American Championship – the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship.
When he was asked who his partner would be, he said everyone should “say her name,” at which point the crowd shouted Thea, which prompted a remixed version of Hendry’s theme song to play that replaced his name with Thea.
Thea Hail them came bursting out of the cake, with her and Hendry taking care of Green and Page, clearing the ring.
Hail and Hendry then waved their arms from side to side together to Hendry’s theme song as the show went off the air.
Hendry is still believed to be under contract to TNA Wrestling, but is expected to sign with WWE when his TNA deal expires by the end of this year.
