Jade Cargill has broken her silence following her heel turn on last night’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
The October 24 edition of SmackDown saw WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton pick up another win in singles action, this time over someone she’s all too familiar with from her NXT days: Kiana James.
While the pair had previously teamed together on several occasions in NXT, James is currently aligned with reigning WWE Women’s United States Champion Giulia, who assisted James in attacking Stratton after the match was over.
Stratton’s recent WWE rival Jade Cargill then rushed to clear James and Giulia from the ring, only to unleash her own attack on the reigning WWE Women’s Champion moments later, before standing tall holding Tiffany’s championship.
Taking to Twitter to address her actions, Cargill stated that what fans saw was not a “turn”, but rather her “takeover”:
Don’t ask me why. Ask why it took me this long…that wasn’t a turn.
That was MY takeover #LetItRain #CategoryJade #CutTheISH #ImME
It was later confirmed that Stratton and Cargill will do battle for the WWE Women’s Championship at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event next Saturday, November 1 in Salt Lake City.
Jade has previously failed to capture the title from Tiffany on three occasions: losing to Stratton via pinfall at SummerSlam, wrestling to a double count out on the September 12 SmackDown, and lastly in a three-way also involving Nia Jax on the September 26 SmackDown.
