In a new report from Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, it was reported that former WWE Crusierweight Champion TJP is now officially a free agent, having recently turned down a new contract offer from NJPW.

Those that Fightful spoke to said that there was “no ill will” from either TJP or NJPW, with the 40-year-old continuing to work with the company as a freelancer.

It was also noted that TJP was requested for the upcoming Super Junior Tournament, with NJPW hoping he’d have a “prominent role” in the competition, however, TJP turned down his spot.

Since his second run in NJPW began in 2019, TJP has captured the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships on three occasions with Catch 22 tag team partner Francesco Akira.
