New Japan Pro Wrestling is reportedly interested in signing a former WWE star who recently became a free agent.
On January 1, Baron Corbin (Tom Pestock) took to Twitter, where he confirmed that he was officially a free agent following his WWE departure.
Corbin’s departure was announced back in November, with Pestock confirming that he was not released from his contract, but rather told that the company wouldn’t be renewing his deal.
Pestock was present backstage at the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view in Orlando, where he was visiting friends in the area, but his next move in wrestling may have now been revealed.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), a number of current contracts with the company are set to expire soon, and on top of the company beginning talks with the talent, they are also considering bringing in new talent.
Among those names that NJPW has interest in bringing in is the former Baron Corbin, with the two sides having been in contact, though the depth of those talks is not known.
We will provide any updates on Pestock’s future as they become available.
