A former NXT star has returned to WWE in-ring action for the first time since his controversial release over two years ago.
In April 2022, WWE released then-NXT Tag Team Champion Nash Carter of MSK and the Rascalz – also known as Zachary Wentz – under unique circumstances.
Disputes between Wentz and his ex-wife Kimber Lee led to Lee publicly posting an almost-10-year-old photo of Wentz imitating Adolf Hitler.
At the time, there was significant support for Wentz from within wrestling, including very vocal support from AEW’s MJF.
Despite that, WWE released him shortly after the image surfaced, but he ended up back in TNA Wrestling.
With WWE’s recent relationship with TNA, Wentz made his return to WWE TV on last week’s episode of NXT, as he and Trey Miguel reunited with Wes Lee.
Tonight, The Rascalz were back on the show and in action for a six-man tag match against Gallus, in which the Rascalz picked up the win.
In the middle of the match, Joe Hendry made his entrance and joined commentary, potentially setting up a future issue with Gallus who he does have a history with.
