Drew McIntyre has reacted to his reference to Cody Rhodes’ father Dusty Rhodes on last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
On last night’s December 26 episode of WWE SmackDown, Drew McIntyre made his return to the show, where he was forced to apologise to referee Dan Engler and announce the stipulation for his upcoming rematch with Cody Rhodes.
During the segment, Drew announced that he and Cody would face off in a Three Stages of Hell match on the January 9 episode of SmackDown in Berlin, Germany.
To close the segment, Drew took a shot at Cody Rhodes’ father Dusty Rhodes, saying:
“When I send you straight to hell, say hi to your dad for me!”
This prompted anger from Cody, with him unable to put his hands on Drew McIntyre prior to the match or he will be stripped of the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Taking to Twitter, Drew responded to his shot at Dusty on the show, sharing the clip of the promo, simply saying:
Dusty will be looking up with a huge smile on his face
Next week’s WWE SmackDown show will be the first episode of the show after returning to three hours.
