Cody Rhodes has reflected on his segment with Randy Orton on last night’s WWE SmackDown (March 28), saying it “meant everything” to him.
With three weeks until WrestleMania 41 and his major Undisputed WWE Championship defence against John Cena, Cody Rhodes opened the show at London’s 02 Arena on SmackDown.
Much like other appearances on WWE’s European tour, the London fans were well behind Cody and very much against his opponent John Cena, who earlier in the week on Raw vowed he would “ruin wrestling” when he dethrones Rhodes in Las Vegas.
While Cena wasn’t present for SmackDown, Rhodes was instead greeted by the familiar face of his mentor Randy Orton, who is also preparing for his own big WrestleMania 41 match against Cody’s recent rival Kevin Owens.
Orton shared some heartwarming words for Rhodes as the pair shared the ring, attributing “99.9%” of WWE’s increase in business to The American Nightmare.
With his mentors words clearly moving him and the raucous London crowd chanting his name continuously, Rhodes has now reflected on his SmackDown appearance.
Posting to Twitter, Rhodes shared an image of he and Orton during the segment, along with the message:
Mania’ season moves so insanely fast – it’s postseason ball
And then moments like last night hit you
Meant everything, won’t soon forget
Rhodes will meet Cena face-to-face once again on Monday’s WWE Raw (March 31), which once again emanates from London’s 02 Arena.
