After weeks of anger and brawls, tonight’s segment was more about each man opening up about the true reasons why they hate each other.

Punk apologized for bringing up Reigns’ late father Sika a few weeks ago, and said the true reason he hates Reigns is because he envies how Reigns was handed everything Punk ever wanted while Punk had to work hard for it.

However, Punk also admitted he hates that he knows how hard Reigns had to work to be Undisputed WWE Champion for 1,316 days.

Reigns then said, “I hate you too,” with his reasoning being that he’s envious of Punk’s connection to the fans, admitting that he hopes when he leaves WWE, they’ll miss him as much as they missed Punk.

So in a way, they admitted they hated each other by actually complimenting each other and admitting their hatred wasn’t necessarily for each other, but that they hate that the other person is successful.

That goes along with traditional pro-wrestling logic in that if you just run someone down verbally and make them sound like a nobody and then beat them, you’ve beaten a nobody, but if you build them up and then beat them, you’ve accomplished something and now you look better as a result.

Reigns had the closing words when the show went off the air, saying:

“This little nostalgia act, this experiment’s done. On Sunday, we fix this mess that you started.

“On Sunday, we make this place where we had it – at the very top, worth every single dollar.

“On Sunday, the Tribal Chief takes back over, and you, along with the whole world, will acknowledge me.”
