CM Punk responded to Roman Reigns calling him “old” during tonight’s March 23 episode of WWE Raw in Boston, Massachussetts.
Last week’s Raw ended with Punk becoming enraged and striking Reigns down after Reigns referred to him as “old” during their confrontation.
This came two weeks after Punk had referenced Reigns’ dead father Sika, saying he was going to bury Reigns next to Sika.
Tonight, Punk, who is 47 compared to Reigns at 40, issued a response to the “old” comment.
His response was that, yes, he is old, but he is not ashamed of it and instead embraces it.
He added:
“Am I old? Yeah. Am I ashamed of it? Hell no. If I was ashamed of it, I’d dye my beard with Just For Men, just like Roman does!”
He went on to name successful sportsmen who were considered older, including Mr Hockey, Gordie Howe, who played until he was 52.
CM Punk, Roman Reigns & The Usos Latest Confrontation
Punk was eventually interrupted by Jey Uso, who continues to have an issue with Punk dispresecting Reigns and the rest of their family.
As things were getting heated between Uso and Punk – with Punk even offering Uso a WWE World Title shot – Jimmy Uso came out and told Jey he should leave Punk alone and let Reigns handle the situation.
With both Usos and Punk in the ring, Roman Reigns himself then came out to join them.
Punk stood face-to-face with Reigns with his hands behind his back as if to encourage Reigns to strike him.
Reigns turned his attention to Jimmy Uso, and said, “As respectfully as I can, get your brother and leave the ring.”
After Punk poked with another smart comment, saying the Usos should stay because Reigns clearly needs their help, Jey refused to leave and ran at Punk but got struck down.
This led to Roman Reigns taking out Punk with a Superman Punch, and then, at the direction of Jey, Spearing Punk for good measure and continuing to attack him around ringside, including a powerbomb through the announce table.
Punk started laughing after being powerbombed, as if he was happy that he got Reigns to lose his temper, and said, “I’m not the one that needs help.”
It’s certainly interesting to see Reigns and the Usos interacting again and, in a way, reforming the original Bloodline that led to WWE’s upward trajectory over the past few years along with the rise of Cody Rhodes.
It could be a big question come WrestleMania whether the Usos help or hinder Reigns in his bid to win the World Heavyweight Championship – a title he has yet to hold since this version was introduced in 2023.
