CM Punk has addressed his wife AJ Lee’s WWE return, with the former Divas Champion appearing for the company for the first time in a decade.
AJ Lee made her WWE comeback on the September 5 SmackDown episode, taking out Becky Lynch.
The episode went off the air with Punk and AJ in the ring celebrating AJ’s return.
CM Punk has now taken to his Instagram story to share a movie quote encapsulating his thoughts on the return.
Sharing a quote from the 1995 movie Heat indicating that this return was for the thrill of the job, Punk’s Instagram story notes:
“Well ya know, for me, the action is the juice.”
AJ Lee’s return evens the odds, with Becky Lynch aligning with her husband Seth Rollins on screen at Clash In Paris to cost CM Punk the World Heavyweight Championship match.
A report shared prior to AJ Lee’s return noted that the plan is for AJ and Punk to face Lynch and Rollins at Wrestlepalooza on September 20.
