For the first time since suffering a career-threatening injury in October 2024, TNA Wrestling’s Chris Bey has walked to a wrestling ring.
Chris Bey suffered a serious neck injury during the October 27, 2024 TNA iMPACT taping, with Bey immediately being rushed to hospital for emergency surgery that same night.
With the ‘FSW Mecca X: Beynefit For Bey’ benefit show taking place on March 23, Chris Bey made a heartwarming appearance to show how far he has come along in his rehabilitation.
As can be seen in the footage below this news story, Bey was able to not only walk to the ring under his own power, but was also able to step between the ropes.
He would embrace Karrion Kross and Hammerstone following their match on the show which saw the WWE star victorious.
Addressing the ecstatic fans in attendance at the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Chris Bey said:
“I’d be lying if I said I did it by myself because I truly and honestly believe that because of each and every one of you, and everybody in the back, that’s the reason why I’m standing here right now.
“Love is a real thing and all my life, all I’ve ever truly, truly, truly loved — until I met her (Brittnie) — was professional wrestling and professional wrestling has given me the ability to be me and to be accepted for me and me and to connect with heroes, with idols, and with each and every one of you who has helped shape me into the man I am today. So for that, I must say thank you.”
Chris Bey would go on to talk more about his gratitude to the fans in attendance at the show, saying:
“But look around. Look left, look right, look behind you, in front of you. Look at the card we had tonight. That’s the power of love.
“Thank you to all of you for creating this special night where people from everywhere around the world, all companies, all of you can create something so special that’s gonna live in history forever and live in my heart forever.
“This is a moment in time to take pictures, have joy, have happiness, don’t be afraid to be emotional, don’t be afraid to let your emotions show. I’m crying a lot in front of you; a lot of you have cried to me. I love you all, even AJ Francis. But I truly don’t know what to say other than thank you.
“Until I figure out exactly what I want to say, I’m going to leave it at this. I love you. I thank you. I am nothing without you. Thank you.”
Chris Bey has previously recalled an inspiring conversation that he had with WWE’s CM Punk following his injury and diagnosis.
WWE’s TJ Wilson (fka Tyson Kidd) has recently opened up about a conversation that he had with Bey, having suffered a career-ending injury of his own.
