In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has commented on Andrade asking for his WWE release last week at Monday Night Raw, something the former NXT star has confirmed to be true.
Speaking on the matter, Meltzer reported that Charlotte Flair, who is actually engaged to Andrade, pitched to work with her fiancé on television, but the idea was shot down:
Ashley Fliehr (Charlotte) did push to work an angle together with Andrade to get him on television but it was turned down.
Charlotte Flair has actually spoken about this publically before, noting that she’d love to work an angle/storyline with Andrade. You can read exactly what the multi-time champion had to say on the matter by clicking here.
It has been reported that WWE rejected Andrade’s release request, so the former United States Champion likely won’t be able to leave the company until his current deal expires.
