A big championship match has been confirmed for next month’s WWE NXT Great American Bash premium live event on July 12.
As announced on Tuesday’s NXT (June 24), Oba Femi’s next challenger for the NXT Championship will be confirmed on the July 1 episode of NXT – with Yoshiki Inamura and men’s WWE LFG Season One winner Jasper Troy competing for the number one contender spot.
While that match, along with the rest of next week’s NXT won’t air until July 1, the show was actually taped immediately following last night’s episode at the WWE Performance Center.
Along with Inamura vs. Jasper Troy, four other matches took place on the show – one of which featured a top TNA star.
As well as Oba Femi’s NXT Championship match, another bout was made official for WWE Great American Bash by NXT General Manager Ava.

The following are full spoilers for the July 1 episode of WWE NXT (taped on Tuesday, June 24).
Dark match: Dante Chen defeated Jax Presley
Joe Hendry defeated Wes Lee. Mike Santana appeared and aided Hendry after Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont attempted to interfere in the match.
Myles Borne defeated Lexis King. King debuted new shorter tights.
Lainey Reid defeated Thea Hail. Reid used the bottom rope for leverage to pick up the win.
Luca Crusifino called Tony D’Angelo out to the ring and they discussed Stacks’ Heritage Cup win over Tony on the June 24 NXT. Luca attacked Tony once again inside the ring after Stacks made an appearance on the ramp, however, Luca would then follow that up by attacking Stacks also. Luca then declared that he was now on his own before leaving the arena.
Yoshiki Inamura defeated Jasper Troy to become number one contender for Oba Femi’s NXT Championship. Je’Von Evans hit Troy with a springboard cutter as Inamura celebrated. Oba Femi then had a face-off with Inamura and they exchanged words.
Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley defeated Sol Ruca and Zaria. Zaria inadvertently speared Sol Ruca after Paxley moved Dame out of the way of harm. Izzi pinned Ruca following a Sky High.
The following matches were announced for the July 8 episode of NXT:
Charlie Dempsey vs. Tavion Heights – if Tavion wins, he can leave No Quarter Catch Crew
Mike Santana & Joe Hendry vs. The High Ryze (Tyriek Igwe and Tyson DuPont) with Wes Lee
Ricky Saints vs. Vanity Project (WWE Evolve Champion Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes) with Ethan Page – Vanity Project Gauntlet Match
Jordynne Grace cut a promo addressing her NXT Women’s Championship match with Jacy Jayne at WWE Evolution, but was interrupted by Jayne, Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx. Grace began fighting all three members of Fatal Influence before Blake Monroe came to the ring to help Grace even the odds. NXT GM Ava announced that Monroe and Grace will team together against Jayne and Fallon Henley at WWE Great American Bash.
