WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch has revealed what we can expect from her upcoming title defense against Sol Ruca.
With Lynch and Ruca’s non-title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event ending via disqualification after just two minutes, Nick Aldis announced later that night that the duo would face off again at Clash In Italy, this time with the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line.
WWE has now shared an interview featuring Becky Lynch, during which Corey Graves asked her what we can expect from Sunday’s match.
Believing that Sol Ruca will realise that she doesn’t belong here, Lynch said:
“I think we can expect what we’ve seen the whole time, that Sol Ruca is not ready. She hasn’t won a single match since she’s been on the main roster.
“She has lost all of her matches. Apparently she won against me by disqualification, I guess I’m so good at winning, I win for other people now, she doesn’t even need to win a match, I win it for her.
“I think she’s going to realize that she’s bitten off more than she can chew, that she doesn’t belong here. I think this will be the end of Sol Ruca, I don’t think that we’ll be seeing her again. I think she’ll be very embarrassed, I think she’ll run home to America.
“I’ll stay in Europe, I’ll celebrate. I might have a vacation with my family. I’ll enjoy myself, maybe I’ll go home, maybe I’ll have a pint of Guinness. I’ll enjoy my time in Europe because I deserve it. I deserve a vacation.
“I’ll snuggle up next to my Intercontinental Championship and enjoy my time as champion, because I’ve earned it. I’m the greatest female wrestler of all time, and she’s not.
“She doesn’t deserve to be in the ring with me, I proved that at Saturday Night’s Main Event. She couldn’t handle it, she attacked a referee viciously.

With the Saturday Night’s Main Event match ending in controversial fashion, we’re pretty much guaranteed a decisive finish at Clash In Italy.
From a storytelling perspective, it’d make sense for Sol Ruca to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, so she can prove Becky Lynch wrong and show that she does belong.
With Clash In Italy only a matter of hours away, time will tell.
