Bayley has credited WWE tag team partner Lyra Valkyria for helping her get through the past year, following the setback of being removed from the WrestleMania 41 card last minute.

Ahead of WrestleMania 41, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria earned the right to challenge Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles by winning number one contender’s Gauntlet Match on the April 11, 2025 episode of SmackDown.

However, on the eve of the match it was revealed that Bayley had been attacked backstage and wouldn’t be able to compete – making way for the return of Becky Lynch, who teamed with Lyra in Bayley’s place and won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

While it would later be revealed that Lynch attacked Bayley during a feud between all three women for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship in the Summer, the decision to remove Bayley from WrestleMania is one that proved unpopular with many fans and was even covered during Season Two of WWE Unreal on Netflix.

Speaking on No Contest Wrestling, Bayley opened up about her pairing with Lyra and how the Irish star helped her get through the past year:

“I’ve told her, I don’t think I would have gotten through this last year as positively as I have without her. She’s so new to the roster still where she’s like fresh, doe-eyed, like, ‘Don’t give up man’ and I’m like, ‘It’s freaking hard sometimes, I got beat up and taken off WrestleMania alright, I’m allowed to be mad.’ And she’s like, ‘It’s ok.’

“I feel like I needed her to keep pushing me in times that I’m just like, this old lady, like ‘I’ve been through this, it’ll be ok though,’ and she’s like, ‘No, we’re gonna fight and we’re gonna get better.’

“And I’m kind of that for her too, I want to bring out the true Lyra, the one that I know, the one that the locker room knows, which is just going to make her a million times better. She’s so much more than what she is in the ring.”
