There is an announcer change for tonight’s August 29 episode of WWE SmackDown, taking place in Lyon, France.

Like last week’s episode in Dublin, tonight’s show is taking place live several hours before it airs in its usual time slot on USA Network in the US, but is streaming live internationally on Netflix.

In an immediate note upon the start of the show, the commentary team tonight is Michael Cole and Wade Barrett, with the show’s usual lead announcer Joe Tessitore absent.

Tessitore did call last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown in Dublin, Ireland alongside Barrett.

College football returns this weekend, which appears to be the reason for Tessitore’s absence as he’ll be calling some of the action there.

Corey Graves has also been in Europe and the UK during WWE’s shows in the region over the past week, and has missed two NXT shows as a result, including Heatwave.

The commentary team for WWE Clash In Paris on August 31 has yet to be confirmed, but it appears Cole, Graves and Barrett are all options.

The September 1 episode of Raw will also be taking place in Paris on Monday.
