An AEW star has filed a new trademark for his nickname after bringing back a gimmick from years ago to debut it in the promotion.
On this past Sunday’s episode of AEW Collision, Tommaso Ciampa faced Lio Rush in a match that amassed over 20 million views for social media clips within 24 hours.
This was due in large part to Lio Rush’s appearance and movements in the ring, as he brought back his ‘Blackheart’ persona from before he signed with WWE back in 2017, although this time with a slightly different look and a shaved head.
Rush has now filed a trademark for ‘Blackheart Lio Rush’ with the following purposes:

The Potential Of ‘Blackheart’ Lio Rush
There’s no doubt Lio Rush has always had something special, which is what led to WWE signing him almost 10 years ago to begin with.
Rush has an unmatched style in the ring, as well as the microphone skills to back it up – evidenced by the fact WWE called up him from NXT specifically to be the mouthpiece for Bobby Lashley.
A string of issues out of the ring have put a stop to his momentum on a few different occasions over the years, but if he and AEW can take advantage of the traction his Blackheart persona has already gained, it could be time for him to finally take off and become a true top star.
