The November 2 edition of Dynamite saw surprise appearances from Colt Cobana and of course, Jeff Jarrett. One huge AEW name was not, however, in attendance.
According to PWInsider, MJF was not backstage at AEW Dynamite.
The self-styled devil was last seen on AEW Dynamite the week prior on October 26, which ended with him being chokeslammed through a table at the hands of W Morrissey, which is likely why he wasn’t around for last night’s November 2 show.
Over the last few editions of Dynamite, MJF has been impressing fans and wrestling veterans alike with his compelling promos with William Regal.
On the October 26 edition, Renee Paquette interviewed MJF, who cut a promo building up to his match against Jon Moxley at Full Gear on November 19.
Previously, tensions have been brewing between MJF and The Firm, who have consistently disobeyed MJF’s orders to refrain from getting involved with his opponents.
MJF warned Stokeley Hathaway that if he did not adhere to this, he would be fired.
These orders seem to have come in response to pressure from Regal, who has urged MJF to fight and win matches on his own merits.
MJF promised during his interview with Paquette that he would not use his Dynamite Diamond ring in his match against Jon Moxley at Full Gear in New Jersey.
Following Moxley’s victory over Penta El Zero Miedo for the AEW World Title on October 26, Moxley was viciously attacked by the Firm while the other members of the Blackpool Combat Club were locked in their room backstage.
MJF notably looked on from the stage as he was conflicted over whether to intervene.
MJF made the call and ran to the ring, dispersing the Firm and firing Hathaway. The evening did not end well for MJF as he then faced a beatdown from the Firm, ending with the Morrissey chokeslam through the table.
The Firm’s Ethan Page again attacked Moxley on November 2 following Moxley’s win over Lee Moriarty, and this time MJF wasn’t there to stop him.
With Full Gear mere weeks away, MJF will surely not be away from our screens for long.
