AEW’s Kenny Omega has made a bold statement after missing just over a year away from in-ring action, returning at NJPW Wrestle Dynasty.
The NJPW, AEW, ROH, CMLL and STARDOM Tokyo Dome crossover show on January 5, 2025 saw Omega defeat Gabe Kidd.
Omega has now shared an insight into his plans for 2025 having missed the whole of last year due to potentially life-threatening diverticulitis that required surgery.
Sharing a photo of his comeback physique, Omega also posted a message about his plans on Twitter, indicating that he has less than a year to ‘reclaim’ what he lost.
Omega wrote:
“A year to rebuild. Less to reclaim. Let’s take this as far as we can go.”
After Wrestle Dynasty, Omega revealed his plans for his AEW comeback, too, having last competed in December 2023, beating Ethan Page on Collision.
Omega is a former AEW World Champion and has also held the World Tag Team Championship with Adam Page and is a two-time AEW World Trios Champion alongside The Young Bucks.
The Young Bucks are also currently absent from AEW and made their in-ring return at Wrestle Dynasty, taking the vacant IWGP Tag Team Championship in a Three Way match against Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Tanahashi & Tetsuya Naito) and United Empire (Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb).
Their next match will see them once again in NJPW, facing Tanahashi & Naito for the newly won titles at The New Beginning in Osaka on February 11.
