The Miz has revealed Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns as his favorite match to take place at WWE WrestleMania.
With WrestleMania 42 set to take place on April 18 & 19, The Miz was recently asked about his favorite memory from a fan perspective.
During an interview with Estaban Ramirez, The Miz named the main event of WrestleMania 40, stating:
“I loved watching Cody Rhodes’ story be finished at WrestleMania in Philly. I thought that was probably the best match I’ve ever seen at WrestleMania.”

At WrestleMania 40 in 2024, Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to become Undisputed WWE Universal Champion on the April 7 show.
On April 6, he teamed with Seth Rollins against Reigns and The Rock in a match that would decide the stipulation for the Night Two main event, with the loss leading to a Bloodlines Rules match.
Cody Rhodes & The Finished Story
The return of Cody Rhodes to WWE in 2022 saw the star seek to “finish the story”, setting out to win his first world championship in the company.
He hasn’t done badly on that front, being a three-time Undisputed WWE Champion, taking the title to WrestleMania 42 and the challenge that is Randy Orton.
Last year, at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes walked into the Allegiant Stadium as Undisputed WWE Champion, only to leave with a loss to John Cena.
With a victory over Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38, a loss to Reigns the following year, the aforementioned win over The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania 40, and the result of last year’s show, the upcoming WWE Premium Live Event will see Rhodes with either more wins or losses in singles action at the two-night event since his return.
A WWE Triple Crown Champion, the next story for Cody Rhodes to write could very well be a Grand Slam reign, although he would need to hunt down the World Heavyweight Championship to achieve that goal.
WrestleMania 42 will see CM Punk defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns, both men that Rhodes has history with.
While fans will have to wait to see the direction of travel for WWE after WrestleMania 42, Rhodes is very much likely to be in the championship picture for years to come.
